Evaluation/Reflection
What am I most happy about?
The story told fits the information presented nicely giving children
efficient advice on how to be safe on the internet. The colours and pictures
used are well presented and make the information presented easily read. I'm
also happy about the use of different animations and transitions making the
multi modal piece that little bit more interesting and professional looking.
What did I find the most challenging part of making the multi modal
text?
Picking a good enough idea to expand upon was very difficult. A lot of
planning was done to come up with a well-structured layout and story, I used a
story board to help me put the power point together. My idea had to be
interesting enough to keep teenagers interested right the way through. Also
deciding what design to use, pictures, colours and fonts was very hard to
decide as they need to be appealing and interesting to look at.
How can I improve?
Next time I can look more at using inter textual references. Make my
piece look more professional by using pictures which I have taken myself,
rather than off the internet.

Putting my ideas together
I am now working on my ideas and putting them together via PowerPoint.
I am using different colours, fonts and images to make the multimedia piece more interesting and appealing to teenagers. The text and pictures I have used are all very basic and easily understood.
I am also using different animations and layouts to make the multimedia piece as interesting as possible making teenagers actually watch it right the way through without getting bored.

Development of ideas
The colours used on this poster are very bright with white writing making the writing easy to read against the different coloured backgrounds. I've tried to do this in my multimedia piece allowing it to be interesting and easily readable for my target audience.
The way the text is presented on the poster is very reader friendly as it is displayed in short sentences directing the reader and giving them advice on how to stay safe online. I have tried to do this in my own multimedia piece by presenting the information in short bullet points and short sentences.
The layout of the page is also well presented with pictures, colourful circles and different sized fonts and colours. In my own piece I have tried to use different colours, shapes and font ranges to make it as interesting as possible.

My Idea
I have decided that my target audience will be aimed at teenagers, as
its easier for me to relate to and put my points ideas across.
I am struggling to come up with an idea and theme. However, I have
started looking at PSHE themes and topics used in schools and have come up with
some possibilities. The ideas which I have
considered are- under-age drinking, drugs, bullying and online safety.
I think I have decided to base my multimedia piece on online safety. Online
safety for teenagers is very important and needs to be addressed in schools so
that they use the internet with care and are not faced with any dangers. It also
helps prevent cyber bullying if an individual knows how react and therefore won’t
be putting themselves in danger.
Back when I was in school I had many talks about online safety. This
talk made me more aware of how to be safe online. These talks were made very
interesting with animations so they made me listen more and actually take in
what was being said.
To help me get some ideas together I looked at animations on YouTube for
ideas of how information and pictures are displayed. I started by noting down
some ideas of what pictures and text my animation is going to include, and how
information is going to be addressed with the use of IT. Also I looked at
posters used in schools to address these issues, what colours, layouts and
images are used.

Inanimate Alice
Inanimate Alice- episode 4
The colour of both the text and background are a mode. The background is
jet black and the writing it white, this is very effective and clear to the
audience making it easy to read and makes it easier focusing on what the
writing is conveying to the audience. The writing looks as if it has been hand
written by Alice, making it more realistic.
The module of the screen is the text 'my name is Alice...', the text is
in the middle of the screen where the reader is most likely to be looking and where
their attention should be directed.
The animations of the slide, where things are moving and flickering
gives a sense of content and structure for the rest of the story yet to come.
The background picture of the stairs is used as that's what the story is
based on, the surroundings of the stairs looks very un-looked after for example
the graffiti on the walls and non-looked after weeds.
