Granpa- John Burningham
- Bright
colours are used including yellows, greens and blues. This symbolises a
happy child who is having fun spending time at the beach with her
grandpa.
- The title
of the book 'GRANDPA' is in capital letters in bold font showing the
importance of the character grandpa and how the book is centralised around
him.
- Both
grandpa and the girl are presented very small on this page compared to
their surroundings, the yellow sand on this page is emphasised a lot more
over powering them, maybe resembling how important grandpa is in her
life.
- There
is a visual rhyme throughout the book, the colour yellow resembling
Grandpa and how important he is in the girls life.
- The
yellow colour gradually dies out throughout the book, grandpas yellow
jacket becomes a washed out colour, this represents his old age and how he
slowly is dying towards the end of the book.
- The season
is Autumn and the yellow leaves on the tree are slowly falling off representing
how grandpa is about to die.
